Hiatus

Alrighty.......
My blogging has been very sporadic recently and unfortunately will continue to be until after March 15.

March 15 is the day I will take my dental hygiene national boards..... BOO!!!

My life right now is packed so full of school and studying that everything else in my life has been put on hold for a bit.  I hope to find chances to blog and make it part of my "reward" during study breaks.  However, I think all of you can agree that composing a blog post can take up a lot of time and time is something that I am lacking on right now.  So, my posts will be few and far between from this moment but I will be back after March 15.

Please keep me and all of my classmates in your prayers during this stressful time.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and CAN NOT wait to graduate in May!!

55 days!!!

Last Night in the Big Apple

Our last night in New York we went to see the Rockettes at Radio City then went ice skating at Rockefeller Center.
I don't care how many times I see the Rockettes, I'll never get tired of it!!
I sat in my seat with the most goobie excited smile plastered on my face through the entire show!

We had the best time iceskating!!!!

Have a fabulous weekend y'all!!!

New York Day 2

Welcome to day two of our New York adventure..... Where we continue our subway adventures, have a mouse encounter, walk down Wall street, and commit a crime a a national monument.

While Taylor was taking this picture of us waiting on our train there was a little mouse underneath the bench. He wasn't bothering us so we saw no need to get up and bother him.... until he got a wild hair and decided to across Jessie's boot!!!

We were not about to wait in the exceptionally long line to have our pictures made with the bull...
So this is the best shot I got of him!!!

After Wall Street we walked to see the East river.

Next we hit Battery Park.
It was still fenced off and and had several trees down from hurricane sandy.
This is a sculpture was originally between the Twin Towers.
It sustained it's damage from the attack on September 11.
It now sits in Battery park.

Alrighty..... After Ellis Island and gawking at Lady Liberty we headed over to the World Trade Center memorial.
This is where the day REALLY gets interesting!
Let me just preface.... We are four girls from the south walking around alone in New York.  I am 4'10 and petite so of course I am carrying pepper spray in my purse.  I did not even think about it being an issue and not allowed inside the memorial.  Also, let me point out that I bought this pepper spray in Arkansas.  Kimber makes an amazing double barrel pepper sprayer thats supposed to literally knock an assailant off his/her feet. Of course this is what I own.... did own.
Ok... now that I've got y'all up to speed let's get on with the drama!!

We're waiting in line to get in and I see the sign prohibiting knives, firearms, tasers, and pepper spray.
At this point I begin to panic and look frantically for a trash can..... of course there aren't any. I ask my friend Jessie what I should do... both of us have no clue.

I'm thinking that if they just look down into our purses that they might not see it because it's buried..... however, once we get up to security I realize that we are putting our bags and coats through a scanner.

I decided to just go ahead and tell them that I had it in my purse thinking if I disclosed I had it with me that It would be no big deal. I thought they might be able to hold it for me or just simply throw it away for me.
BOY WAS I WRONG!!!!!!!

It was the biggest ordeal!!!
They lady looked at me like I was a terrorist and told me to slowly pull it out of my purse.  I did so and handed it to her.  She looks down at the pepper sprayer then back at me then begins to yell at me
"You realize this is illegal in the state of New York"
Insert quick mental thought here "of course I don't I'm from Arkansas"
I reply with "no ma'am"
Security officer: "I'm telling you not asking!"

Let's make this story a tad shorter and just tell you that this went on for at least another 3 minutes as she starts to yell across the room at another officer telling him (as she points at me) that I have pepper spray.

I was completely embarrassed and just wanted to melt into the floor.  I seriously thought they might cart me off the the "big house".

After what seemed like an eternity the officer FINALLY threw the pepper spray away and let me through the body scanner.

Word of traveling advice..... when visiting memorials leave the pepper spray at home!!
O and remember that yankees have no manners!! hahaha

If interested I'd recommend this puppy!!!
Say hello to the Kimber pepper blaster (just do not take it to New York)

I hope y'all enjoy this very cold Tuesday!!!

New York Day 1 (part 2)

Our first real night in New York (when we weren't walking zombies) we went to see the Lion King!!!
I'm absolutely convinced that there is NO possible way to see a bad show on Broadway.

This show was truly miraculous... and I'll have to admit, there were several times that I flat out bawled!!(not because of the sick, hacking, nosey child behind me)

This is a MUST see!!!!

Once we had entered the theatre lobby there was this HUGMUNGO glass window!!
It was so neat to see Times Square from this view.

I hope y'all have a GREAT Monday!!!
Today is my first day back to school, since Christmas break, so please pray that I'll have a great day also!

Reality Check

UGH!!!!!!

Well y'all it's about that time.  Tomorrow I start my LAST semester of dental hygiene school.
ONLY 15 WEEKS LEFT!!!

I'm super excited that it's FINALLY almost over and graduation is just 4 months away....... BUT starting school tomorrow means the end to my housewife days (insert uncontrollable sobs here).

Honestly, I truly loved staying at home.  I'd do laundry at my leisure, cook new recipes, work on new crafts and clean and pick up during commercials! hahaha

I really enjoyed being home once we got Tippy!!
She has made my days at home much more busy with less T.V. and more running up and down our three flights of stairs but they have been so much fun!!!

I'm SO going to miss getting to be with her all day!

I hope that y'all have had a wonderful weekend!!!

New York day 1 (part 1)

Our first full day, December 18th, we decided to walk from our hotel to Central Park.
Fasten your seatbelt and prepare for a photo dump!!

Central Park was absolutely one of my favorite things we did on our trip!

You have never seen a girl get so excited as me when we made it to this part of the park!
Let's just say I broke into song like my life was a musical.
Does anyone recognize this?
This is the path that Giselle and Robert are walking down right before the "How Does She Know" song begins in Enchanted!!

The boat House

Next stop....
FIFTH AVENUE!!!!

After Fifth Avenue we jumped on the subway and headed over to Greenwich village.
From there we were able to see the East River .

Hope Ya'll have a great weekend!!
