You Need A Vacation When

Have you ever had a thought or idea that seemed good at the time?  But later you begin to ponder this idea/thought only to realize how completely absurd it is.  You completely judge yourself.

I had one of these thoughts the other day as I was driving to work.  It was just another ordinary day. Just the monotonous routine of burning tire rubber with the rest of the commuters.  That is until I pulled along side of an 18-wheeler.  As I saw the driver behind the wheel I had my crazy random thought.

How fun would it be to be a truck driver?  Yes this was my actual thought.

A gypsy soul on the run, nothing but open road in front of you, a new place everyday.  You've got your very own handle on the CB radio.... breaker breaker good buddy.  Burt Reynolds is your mascot and East Bound and Down is your mantra and alma mater.  All hail The Bandit.

Whoa!!  Pump your air ride breaks there, Molly.

This was a legitimate thought y'all.  I can not make this stuff up.

I had put this brief moment of insanity out of my mind until 2 days after.  What in the world was I thinking.

I've obviously never been a trucker but I can only imagine that the lifestyle of such a profession is not as glamorous as what my day dreaming self deemed it to be.

Dirty truck stop bathrooms, sleeping in a small little cubby hole of a bed in the back of your truck, and I don't even want to think about taking a shower at a truck stop.

I can only take this moment of insanity to mean that I need a vacation in the worst way.  You know this must be true when you fascinate about being a trucker.

Have any of you ever had bazaar thoughts like mine?
